Sunday recruiting tidbits

Safety C.J. Hampton, an Ole Miss pledge, enjoyed his visit to Arkansas.

Calvin Hampton, the father of safety C.J. Hampton, 6-1, 198, 4.48 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Meridian, Mississippi said his son enjoyed his official visit to Arkansas. He said C.J. had good things to say about the coaching staff and his host.

The elder Hampton, who's the offensive line coach at Meridian, said they haven't had a chance to go in-depth about the visit but will do so tonight.

Offensive lineman Brian Wallace Jr. of St. Louis Christian Brothers and his parents will leave Monday morning. They arrived Saturday afternoon for an official visit.

Junior highlights of junior offensive lineman Rob Dowdy, 6-7, 285, 5.0 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Westerville South High School in Ohio. He and his mother attended the Texas A&M game. Very high on Arkansas.

Offensive lineman Andrew Mike of Tucson, (Ariz.) Sabino had an in-home visit from Arkansas offensive line coach Sam Pittman on Wednesday. Very impressed. He said Pittman will visit his school on Monday and attend his basketball game in the evening.

Mike, who plays the post in basketball, said he was too physical last year and hurt several opponents and was thrown out of some games and has had to adjust his play this season.

Junior defensive tackle Jozie Milton, 6-3, 294, 4.9 of Clinton, (La.) Silliman Institute said offensive coordinator Jim Chaney emailed his father and said the Hogs were very impressed with his video and would be getting in touch soon. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Junior defensive lineman Kahlil McKenzie, 6-4.300 of Concord, (Calif.) De La Salle has a scholarship offer from Arkansas. He and defensive line coach Charlie Partridge got to know one another when Partridge was at Wisconsin and McKenzie lived in Green Bay.

As was reported on Thursday, receiver Cody Hollister, 6-4, 205, 4.5 of Arizona Western Community College received an offer from Arkansas.

He said today that he and his teammate, tight end Blake Whiteley will likely make an official visit to Fayettevile this Thursday to Saturday but will know more about the date of the trip on Monday.

As reported on Twitter, 2015 defensive end commitment Hjalte Froholdt of Denmark said he called cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson on Saturday. He called the conversation awesome and it reminded him that he made the right decision in pledging to the Hogs.
