Swanson a finalist for Rimington

Arkansas center Travis Swanson (64) calls out a play during a Nov. 29, 2013 game against LSU at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La.

— Arkansas senior Travis Swanson was named one of six finalists for the Rimington Trophy on Monday.

The winner of the award, which is presented to the best center in college football, will be announced Thursday at the Walt Disney World Resort in Buena Vista, Fla. Other finalists include Reese Dismukes (Auburn), Hroniss Grasu (Oregon), Gabe Ikard (Oklahoma), Tyler Larsen (Utah State) and Bryan Stork (Florida State).

Swanson started his 50th consecutive game in Arkansas' season finale against LSU on Nov. 29. Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema has repeatedly called Swanson the best center in the country and said prior to the last game he believes Swanson will be a high-round NFL Draft pick next spring.

Swanson was named first team all-Southeastern Conference on Monday by The Associated Press.
