Tuesday recruiting tidbits

DE Rashawn Shawn is one of the more heavily recruited prospects in Florida.

Arkansas tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. visited Warren on Monday to check on junior receivers Jaylon Marshall and Darveon Brown.

Arkansas defensive line coach Charlie Partridge made an in-home visit with defensive end Rashawn Shaw of Fort Pierce Central High School in Florida. Shaw is planning to officially visit in Jan. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson visited the school of cornerback commitment Chris Murphy of Marietta, (Ga.) Lassiter.

Fayetteville junior defensive back Dre Greenlaw ran a 4.50 time in the 40 yard dash on two watches on the first day of testing last week.

2015 Razorback quarterback commitment Ty Storey of Charleston is expecting offensive coordinator Jim Chaney to visit his school on Wednesday.

Lunney visited with safety-receiver Gary Cross, 6-2, 190 pounds of Fordyce today. At this point, Cross will likely have to go junior college and was told the Hogs would continue to recruit him.

The plan is for Cross, who tore his ACL, is to redshirt his first year in junior college and play as a redshirt freshman and then have three years to play three at Arkansas. There's a good chance Cross will make an official visit to Fayetteville in Jan.

Redbugs Coach Tim Rodgers said Lunney told him the Hogs would've offered Cross if he was qualified.

Cross had 27 receptions for 604 yards (22.37 average) and 9 touchdowns while having 52 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, 6 pass breakups, 3 recovered fumbles and 4 forced fumbles. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Arkansas defensive coordinator Chris Ash will visit the school of safety Payton Hendrix of Dallas Bishop Dunne on Wednesday. Hendrix will make his official visit to Fayetteville this weekend. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Harvard, Memphis and Oklahoma State will be making in-home visits with Rogers linebacker Zack Wary, who recently received an offer from the Hogs and will visit this weekend.

Arkansas tight end commitment Ravian Pierce of Plantation, Fla. said Partridge will visit him on Tuesday.

Hog defensive line commitment Bijhon Jackson of El Dorado won't visit Arkansas this weekend because of playing in the Class 6A state title game. Will visit in Jan.

Arkansas has asked White Hall linebacker Austin Berry, 6-1, 218, 4.53 to walk-on. He had more than 150 tackles this season. He scored a 30 on the ACT. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Hog defensive end commitment Jake Hall of Springdale Har-Ber said Lunney will visit his school on Thursday.

Junior defensive end Russell Ude of Atlanta, (Ga.) Westminster said he talked to Johnson and was told he would be visit his school soon. Johnson told him the Hogs have seen his video and like what they've seen. Ude has numerous offers but is waiting for one from the Razorbacks. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Linebacker Edward Muldrow of Copiah-Lincoln C.C. will not officially visit Arkansas this weekend. The Hogs have decided to go in a different direction.

Defensive lineman Breeland Speaks, an Ole Miss commitment from Jackson, (Miss.) Callaway, indicated in a text message that he was still considering an official visit to Arkansas.

Arkansas is not pursuing cornerback Kweishi Brown of Grossmont Community College. The former Hog commitment is now looking at his other options.

Arkansas defensive coordinator Chris Ash is visiting Butler Community College in Kansas to see linebacker Tyler Hayes, who played at Alabama before transferring to Butler.

Arkansas junior offensive line commitment Zach Rogers of Carrollton, (Texas) Hebron said saw his doctor on Monday and was told he could start running and in four to six weeks he can start to cut.

Rogers is rehabbing from ACL surgery.
