Hogs place four on SEC freshman team

Arkansas tackle Darius Philon (91) causes South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw to fumble the ball during the second quarter of play Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

— Arkansas had four players named to the Southeastern Conference's all-Freshman team Thursday.

Running back Alex Collins, tight end Hunter Henry and offensive guard Denver Kirkland and defensive tackle Darius Philon represented the Razorbacks on the team. Arkansas and Ole Miss each had four freshmen recognized by the SEC.

Collins, who was named the league's freshman of the year by The Associated Press earlier this week, rushed for 1,026 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Razorbacks' rushing attack this season. Collins was the 10th freshman in SEC history to rush for more than 1,000 yards.

Henry caught 28 passes for 409 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead all SEC freshmen at the position. Philon, a redshirt freshman, recorded 46 tackles, three sacks and forced two fumbles.

Kirkland was one of two freshmen to start the final eight games at guard for Arkansas alongside Dan Skipper.
