Sunday recruiting tidbits

Springdale Har-Ber senior defensive end Jake Hall (94) makes a move around Webb City senior running back Trey Parra during the third quarter of play Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Jarrell Williams Bulldog Stadium in Springdale.

Arkansas defensive back commitment Santos Ramirez of Shreveport Evangel said he's all Hog after his visit. Convinced he made the right choice to be a Razorback. Loves the Arkansas staff and likes how Coach Bret Bielema cares for his players.

Cornerback commitment Chris Murphy of Marietta, Ga. plans to room with quarterback commitment Rafe Peavey when they get on-campus in January.

He and his father enjoyed the trip and are driving back. The Catfish Hole wowed him like it does with so many other recruits.

Safety Payton Hendrix of Dallas Bishop Dunne will be deciding from Arkansas, Texas Tech or Notre Dame with in the next month. He and offensive line commitment Jovan Pruitt flew out very early this morning.

Receiver commitment Torrance Mosley of Geismar (La.) Dutchtown said he did some praying during his flight up to Fayetteville. It was his first time to fly. The more entertaining part of the experience was the flight attendant's pre-flight instructions that focused on what to do during emergency. He said that startled him.

Receiver Corey McBride of Geismar (La.) Dutchtown believes he can be the deep threat the Hogs missed this season. Has been timed at 10.48 seconds in the 100 meters. He also experienced his first flight coming up for the visit.

Cornerback commitment Henre' Tolliver of Metairie, (La.) Rummel said he's excited to see that he and Ramirez have a chance to be on the field at the same time. Two big corners with length.

Quarterback Rafe Peavey of Bolivar, Mo. will move into the dorms on Jan. 10. He talked very briefly with receiver Frank Iheanacho before he left for Oregon, He said hung out with Austin Allen, Hunter Henry and other players last night.

Defensive Jake Hall of Springdale Har-Ber said defensive end Karl Roesler was his host for the visit. He met with strength and conditioning Ben Herbert and will focus on building lean muscle mass and will see where his weight goes from there.

Linebacker Zack Wary of Rogers said the visit helped Arkansas a lot in their pursuit of him. He said the coaches were very down to earth and really care about the players outside of football. Very impressed with that. Plans to visit Arkansas State, Air Force and Oklahoma State in Jan. Brooks Ellis was his host.

It appears Arkansas will bring in linebacker Tyler Hayes of Butler Community College in for an official visit in January. No offer has been extended at this time. He's the former Alabama backer that left the program after an off the field incident.

Nothing new to report about defensive line coach Charlie Partridge and the FAU job as of about noon today. No doubt the back and forth negations between the two parties is on going.

Coaches in the Broward and other surrounding area are frustrated by the lack of interest in the local prospects. Partridge would take care of that. Most believe the details will be worked out and he's next coach at FAU but nothing is official yet.
