Monday recruiting tidbits

Highly recruited receiver Malachi Dupre is related to Arkansas receivers coach Michael Smith.

Malachi Dupre, ESPN's No. 1 rated receiver in the nation, said he's still considering Arkansas for an official visit.

Dupre, 6-3, 192, 4.4 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of River Ridge, (La.) John Curtis reports having more than 50 scholarship offers from schools like Arkansas, LSU, Miami, Florida State, Ole Miss, Alabama, UCLA, Michigan and Notre Dame.

Razorback receiver coach Michael Smith, cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson and linebackers coach Randy Shannon attended the Patriots' 32-0 victory over University Lab on Thursday night to win yet another state title.

Dupre, whose mother is first cousins with Smith's mother, said he yet to set dates for visits and is considering Arkansas, Ole Miss, Florida State, UCLA, Alabama and LSU.

The Hogs are also trying to get a visit from Patriot linebacker Kenny Young.

Arkansas kicker commitment Cole Hedlund of Argyle, Texas said he spoke to Coach Bret Bielema Sunday evening. He said the conversation went great and he remains solid to the Hogs.

Iowa Western Community College offensive lineman Sebastian Tretola, 6-4 ½ , 315 pounds, 4.9 seconds in the 40-yard dash, said he's down to Arkansas, Oklahoma and TCU. Plans to announce decision on Wednesday, the first day junior college midyear transfers can sign.

He officially visited Texas Tech, Oklahoma, South Florida and TCU prior to taking his visit to Arkansas on Thursday to Saturday.
