Springdale Har-Ber defensive end Jake Hall, an Arkansas commitment, enjoyed his official visit over the weekend, but was disappointed to hear defensive line coach Charlie Partridge leaving to become the head coach at Florida Atlantic. Video highlights CLICK HERE
Hall, 6-5, 230 pounds has been named by league coaches the outstanding lineman in Class 7A West while earning a spot on the All State team. He said he’s still firm in his pledge and is confident Coach Bret Bielema will make a good hire.
“I really like Coach Partridge, but I'm still a strong commit,” Hall said.
Hall enjoyed the recruiting dinner at the Catfish Hole, but wasn’t surprised by the atmosphere like most other prospects.
“Actually, I’ve been a couple of year's ago as a fan when the recruits came in,” Hall said. “It was pretty cool being on the other side of it.”
Rated a 3-star plus prospect by national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network, Hall recorded 67 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 12 QB hurries, 2 pass deflections, 2 forced fumbles and a recovered fumble this season.
His relationship with strength and conditioning coach Ben Herbert has been good since the start of the recruiting process.
“He's great, I can't wait to get started with him,” said Hal, who was hosted by defensive end Karl Roesler and safety Alex Brignoni.
l said. “He said we’re going to build lean muscle mass and my body will decide on how much to weigh.”
Hall said he worked on Rogers linebacker Zack Wary, who was also visiting, during the weekend in hopes of getting him to become a Hog. He’s doing the same with his teammate and Alabama defensive line commitment Josh Frazier.
“He said he might take a visit in January,” said Hall of Frazier. “Right now he's pretty strong to Alabama so I think the best thing I can do is get him to take a visit.”
