“Coach Bielema actually said he wished he could take my hair and put it on his head and run around the office,” Tretola said.

Tretola, 6-4 ½ , 315, 4.9 of Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs signed late Wednesday night with the Razorbacks over Oklahoma, TCU, South Florida and Texas Tech. Bielema made him chuckle.

“There wasn’t too much I could say to that,” Tretola said. “I was laughing, that was pretty funny.”

Tretola, who officially visited Fayetteville Thursday until Saturday, said the thought of signing with the Hogs didn’t happen until after the trip.

“More so when I got home and got to talk to m family about it,” he said.

Offensive line coach Sam Pittman is looking to experiment with Tretola.

“He wants me to play guard and then try and work out at center as time goes on,” Tretola said. “Going to the league by playing center and guard is going to help. He wants to teach me and get me at going at center and see how it pans out.”

The chance to play in the best conference in the country also helped Arkansas’ cause.

“At the end of the day, facts are facts,” Tretola said. “That’s the conference that’s the one that’s producing the most, that’s the one winning the most. So it definitely has a big advantage being the SEC.”
