Tuesday's Army All American updates

Defensive end Solomon Thomas will be making an official visit to Arkansas on Jan. 24.

— The morning session of the West's practice finished up about noon.

On Monday, the linemen were going about half speed but today the coaches turned them loose.

Arkansas defensive line commitment Bijhon Jackson of El Dorado had several good reps during some scrimmage situations by beating Ohio State offensive line commitment Demetrius Knox.

He used his power and quickness to slip into the backfield for a tackle and he also pushed Knox back and had a defensive pancake. The 415 pound bench press and 350 power clean showing up.

Everyone knows defensive end Solomon Thomas of Coppell, Texas has all the physical tools to be outstanding at the next level but what stood out this morning was his relentless effort to the ball. No one chased the ball better than him.

After the morning session, he talked how he relies on several scriptures in the bible during the stressful times of recruiting.

Offensive lineman Brian Wallace. Jr. of St. Louis Christian uses his long reach extremely well. Very tough to get around him once he extends his hands.

Springdale Har-Ber defensive Josh Frazier also had a very good morning. He did good job of containing his gap while also penetrating into the backfield. He and Jackson were the D-linemen that several members of the media bragged about. Lots of video coming after today's afternoon session.

Linebacker Kenny Young of River Ridge, (La.) Curtis said he'll officially visit Arkansas on Jan. 17. He said linebacker coach Randy Shannon coached his cousin LaRon Byrd at Miami and he's heard good things about Shannon. He said receivers coach Michael Smith and Shannon have recruited him hard.

He said he plans to leave Fayetteville on the 19th to visit Texas A&M. He also plans to visit UCLA and Oklahoma State.

He's heard good things from former Hog Jerico Nelson. The two train together.

Young, who has been one of the standouts at linebacker for the West squad this week, said the Arkansas fans show him a lot of love on Twitter.

Jackson said he talked to Solomon Thomas again last night and he gets a good vibe that Arkansas has a solid shot at him. Video coming.
