Sunday recruiting updates

Arkansas tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. visited Osceola ATH Korliss Marshall to inform him of his offer Wednesday.

Quarterback Damon Mitchell of Egg Harbor City, (N.J.) Cedar Creek left Saturday night.

Correction on Mitchell, he left early this morning. Hearing he had a great visit and good news could possibly come Arkansas' way. Nothing official at this time.

Safety Korliss Marshall of Osceola has committed to Arkansas.

Egg Harbor City, (N.J.) Cedar Creek Coach Tim Watson said Mitchell wants to go home and talk things over with his mother.

Running back Denzell Evans of Bellaire, Tx. has committed to Arkansas.

Korliss Marshall was hosted by Rohan Gaines. He said Arkansas' academic support was a big surprise to him and there's no reason why an athlete shouldn't get his degree. Loved the coaching staff and looks forward to playing safety. He said he's been the one getting hit over the years while playing running back but now it's time to start dishing out the punishment.

Denzell Evans was hosted by defensive lineman Jamichael Winston. He loved the fans, facilities and the chance to play in the SEC. Spent time with running backs coach Joel Thomas and is looking forward to playing for him. He said he told his teammate and offensive lineman Dwayne Johnson of hos commitment and Johnson said that gives him something to think about. Evans believes his pledge increases Arkansas chances with Johnson.

Athlete Melvinson Hartfield of Dallas has committed to Arkansas. He was a Kansas State commitment.

Hartfield will play receiver at Arkansas. He had 12 receptions for 412 yards and 6 touchdowns this past season. He said he felt at home while on his visit and the fans welcomed him with open arms. He said the visit made it easy to flip to Arkansas. He believes Damon Mitchell will become a Hog.

Quarterback Damon Mitchell, 6-3, 205, 4.48 of Egg Harbor City, (N.J.) Cedar Creek said he had a great visit. Loved how the fans support the team and how the fans know the players. He was also impressed with the team chemistry and how they care for another. Fullback Kiero Small was his host. He said he wants to go home and talk things over with his mother and his coach but said if it was left up to him he would be a Razorback but wants their input.

He said he got his nickname "Doo Wop" from when he was baby and his mom was listening to the radio and he started dancing and it's stuck since.
