Arkansas landed a big commitment from running back Alex Collins on Monday and now hope to finish strong by adding offensive lineman Denver Kirkland and quarterback Damon Mitchell on signing day.

Mitchell, 6-3, 205, 4.48 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Egg Harbor City, (N.J.) Cedar Creek made an official visit to Fayetteville over the weekend. He left saying if it was left up to him he would be a Razorback but wanted to talk things over with his mother and coach.

It was Arkansas' academic structure, fan support and close knit team that won Mitchell over.

"Kiero Small he pretty much told me you can have your fun but you have to know your limits, "Mitchell said. "Get it done in the classroom but we all love each other and it's family environment."

The Razorbacks will find out what Mitchell plans to do on signing day when he chooses from Arkansas, Rutgers, Iowa and Georgia Tech, whom he committed to last summer.

Mitchell, who passed for 2.201 yards, 22 touchdowns and rushed for 1,035 yards and 20 touchdowns this past season, is dangerous through the air and on the ground.

"My strength as a quarterback is I can keep the play alive," he said. "If things are covered well and I don't see anything I'll run around a little bit and make plays with my feet. I also have a strong arm and can sit back there in the pocket do what I have to do. I just have that winning, competiveness in me."

His nickname "Duwop" goes backs to when he was a baby and he showed off his dances moves while his mother was listening to music.

"She had the radio playing," Mitchell said. "When the Dupow song came on I got up and danced pretty hard and rocking back and forth. It kind of stuck."
