Arkansas lands Kirkland

Offensive lineman Denver Kirkland signed with Arkansas over Florida State and Miami. He said Arkansas linebackers coach Randy Shannon was key in his recruitment.

Arkansas received the last official visit from offensive lineman Denver Kirkland (6-foot-5, 320 pounds) of Miami Washington and today the Hogs landed the highly-recruited prospect.

He's rated a four-star recruit by national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network. He chose the Hogs over Ole Miss, Florida State, South Florida and Miami.

Arkansas now has three four-star offensive line recruits in Dan Skipper (6-10, 295, 4.97) of Arvada, (Colo.) Ralston Valley and Reeve Koehler (6-3, 315, 5.1) of Honolulu St. Louis.

Kirkland is the second highly-rated prospect to announce for Arkansas from south Florida this week. Four-star running back Alex Collins (5-11, 210, 4.4) of South Plantation, Fla. pledged to the Hogs on Monday over offers from Miami, Florida, Florida State and Wisconsin.
