Powell named SEC player of the week

FAYETTEVILLE Arkansas' Marshawn Powell was named the Southeastern Conference's player of the week Monday after combining for 44 points in wins over Auburn and Missouri.
Powell, a redshirt junior, scored 24 points in the Razorbacks' 73-71 win over Missouri on Saturday after scoring 20 in an 83-75 win at Auburn earlier in the week.
He is the second Arkansas player to earn the honor this season, joining guard BJ Young. Powell is averaging 15.2 points and a team-high 5.4 rebounds for the Razorbacks this season.
