Arkansas will play doubleheader today

Arkansas' Matt Vinson rounds second base after advancing in the third inning of Sunday afternoon's game at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville.

— Arkansas and New Orleans will play a doubleheader today beginning at 2 p.m. at Baum Stadium.

The teams were scheduled to meet today and Wednesday at 3 p.m., but opted two play twice today with the possibility of winter weather in the area late Wednesday. Little Rock National Weather Service meteorologist John Robinson told ArkansasOnline the weather could create hazardous road conditions in north Arkansas. Washington County is one of several in the state under a winter storm watch.

"For those wondering if some of this is going to reach Ice Storm proportions, yes, that could very well occur, especially in northwest and north central sections and in the Ouachita Mountain region," Robinson said in an e-mail. "... I outlined the northern half of the state for the winter weather. There is a reasonable possibility that some ice could work somewhat farther south than that, so keep up with later forecasts."

Both games today will be nine innings and there will be a 30-minute intermission between them. Only tickets designated for Tuesday's game will be accepted.

Fans who bought single-game tickets for Wednesday's contest are asked to contact the Razorback Ticket Office. Tickets as part of a season package for Wednesday's game cannot be exchanged.
