LB Mouhon has speed to burn

Linebacker Kevin Mouhon hopes to visit Arkansas in the spring.

Linebackers usually don't have the speed to return an 86 yard interception for a score but Kevin Mouhon isn't your typical linebacker.

"I'm aggressive, I'm fast for a guy my size," Mouhon said. "Many people think I'm slow. I just have a talent for finding the ball. I have good hands for a linebacker."

Mouhon, 6-2, 225, 4.6 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Norcross, Georgia recorded 152 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 2interceptions, 5 pass breakups and 1 recovered fumble this past season. He scored the long touchdown in the 31-21 victory over North Gwinnett in September.

"People mistake me for a wide receiver sometimes." said Mouhon, who reports having 13 scholarship offers, including Arkansas, Nebraska, Auburn and Ohio State.

Arkansas cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson is recruiting Mouhon.

"I called him and then I talked to some of the other coaches," Mouhon said. "It went pretty good. They were all fired up about me and really want me to come visit. I'm going to try in the spring."

Mouhon has a laundry list of things he's looking for in his school of choice.

"I have to feel like I'm at home and be comfortable," said Mouhon, who has a 3.1 grade point average and is considering sports medicine as his major. "The school has a to have a great fan base. Even if we have a losing season 80,000 plus, a 100,000 plus. A good education, because I have to have something to fall back on. Whatever school that has those components will be a great place."

Mouhon is a well adjusted young man who is thankful for his parents' guidance.

"My parents raised me well to respect other people," he said. "That's what happens when you grow up in a well run household. "
