Thursday recruiting tidbits

Rafe Peavey was Arkansas first commitment of the 2014 class.

Arkansas commitment and quarterback Rafe Peavey and his father will visit Arkansas Saturday morning.

Peavey, 6-2,197, 4,5 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Bolivar, Missouri will meet with Coach Bret Bielema, offensive coordinator Jim Chaney and others on the Hogs staff. This will be the first time Peavey has been able to meet the coaches in-person.

He pledged to the Razorback last summer over scholarship offers from Missouri, Nebraska, UCLA, Boston College, Ole Miss, West Virginia and others.

Cornerback Terrence Alexander, 5-10, 176, 4.4 of John Curtis Christian in River Ridge, La. said he talks to

Arkansas receivers coach Michael Smith every other week. He said the Hogs are very interested.

Alexander reports 11 offers but is hoping for one from Arkansas.

Arkansas will host small groups of junior prospects instead of large groups in the coming months. That fits what Coach Bret Bielema did at Wisconsin.
