Friday recruiting tidbits

Arkansas offered one of the nation's top 2015 prospects, running back Jacques Patrick on Thursday, according to Orlando Timber Creek Coach Jim Buckridge.

Patrick, 6-2, 205 rushed for 2,032 yards on 231 carries and 29 touchdowns this past season. He was one of three running backs selected to the Maxpreps sophomore All American team.

Buckridge said Patrick has offers from across the nation and couldn't give an exact count.

Arkansas has offered four 2014 prospects in the state and Warren OL Jhamahl Bell, 6-3 1/2, 295 pounds could also be one to receive an offer. Video highlights click here

Lumberjack coach Bo Hembree said Bell is talking to Arkansas a lot and will probably visit the Hogs in the next couple of weeks. He said Bell played the season at about 305 but has had an excellent offseason and has dropped weight and is moving better.

Hembree also thinks receiver VonEric Gonder, 6-1, 190 and linebacker Kendrick Newton, 5-11, 230 also have shots at playing D-1. The spring evaluation period will tell more about where Gonder and Newton will play on the next level. Gonder highlights click here Newton highlights click here

Gonder had 51 receptions for 972 yards and 8 touchdowns last season while Newton had 127 tackles, 2 sacks, 4 quarterback hurries and 4 pass deflections.

Running back Jonathan Hilliman, 6-1, 210, 4.46 of Jersey City, New Jersey has 33 offers, including

Arkansas. He said he plans to visit Arkansas in the spring and is very excited to see what the Hogs have to offer. He said he's been talking to running back coach Joel Thomas and thinks he's a stand-up guy who tells you how it is.

Hilliman said he doesn't know Razorback quarterback signee Damon Mitchell, who's from New Jersey but knows of him. He said Mitchell inking with Arkansas caught his attention.

Springdale Har-Ber defensive lineman Josh Frazier, 6-4, 325, 5.1 tweeted that Norte Dame has offered him.
