Linebacker Clifton Garrett doesn't know much about Arkansas but family ties, a relationship with defensive coordinator Chris Ash and a rabid fan base has him interested.
"I know they have a really strong fan base," Garrett said. "I actually have family in Wynne Arkansas. I'm not sure how far away it is from Razorback stadium. Every time I go down there all I see is Razorback country out there. As soon as you get into Arkansas, it's Razorback country."
Garrett, 6-2, 1/2, 228, 4.62 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Joliet, (Ill.) Plainfield South worked with Ash while attending a Wisconsin camp last year.
"He told me they're definitely very interested and wanted to get me down there for a visit." said Garrett, who received an offer from the Badgers. "Coach told me they have a lot of new facilities being built down there."
Garrett, who reports 17 scholarship offers, including Ole Miss, Ohio State, Oklahoma , Norte Dame, Florida and is hoping to see one from Arkansas soon.
He's considering studying business in college and being entrepreneur after he's finished playing football.
"I want to open up my own business and keep making money," Garrett said. "I would say a clothing line or something like that and something with sports definitely. Either sports clothing or sports drinks or something like that."
Garrett is planning visits to Ole Miss and LSU but because of a tight schedule that includes 7-on-7 tournaments and along with camps will find other visits hard to plan.
"I just want to go to a place that's going to win championships and has a great education," Garrett said. "We all know football isn't going to be around forever so a school that's going to help me with other guys and help me out with my career after football ."
Being comfortable with people while on his visit will help sway Garrett.
"I'm going to be there for four years," he said. "That's going to be really important because I'm going to be around those people for four to five years so that's going to be a huge factor."
