Arkansas ranked No. 2 in coaches' poll

— Arkansas is ranked No. 2 in the first USA Today/Coaches' Top 25 Poll of the regular season, released Monday.

The Razorbacks (7-1) were ranked No. 1 by the coaches in the preseason. North Carolina (6-0) assumed the top spot this week.

Arkansas has won five straight games, including a three-game sweep of Evansville over the weekend. The Razorbacks lead seven Southeastern Conference teams ranked by the coaches. Vanderbilt (3), LSU (4) and South Carolina (8) are also ranked in the top 10.

Arizona State, which Arkansas will face twice in the coming week, is ranked No. 25 this week by the coaches. The Sun Devils (4-2) won a weekend series against Tennessee.

In addition to the coaches' poll, the Razorbacks were ranked No. 3 for the second consecutive week by Baseball America.
