Tuesday recruiting tidbits

Arkansas assistant coach Charlie Partridge recruited Florida well while at Wisconsin, who has 11 Floridians on the roster, and will bring those ties to the Razorbacks football program.

Arkansas signed two top prospects out of south Florida in February and are now in the hunt for two other highly regarded recruits in the area.

Miami commitment and offensive lineman Trevor Darling, 6-5, 310, 5.3 of Miami Central said he's been talking to Arkansas offensive line coach Sam Pittman and is interested in the Hogs and wants to take an official visit to Fayetteville. He said Pittman is very easy to talk to. He said the Hogs signing offensive lineman Denver Kirkland and running back Alex Collins from the area got his attention and increased his in Arkansas. He has a 3.5 GPA and is considering studying medicine or business in college. Darling said he's committed to Miami but wants to explore his options.

Linebacker Richard Yeargin, 6-4, 230, 4.6 of Ft. Lauderdale, (Fla.) University high school said he will definitely make an official visit to Arkansas if he doesn't visit this spring or summer. The Hogs offered him on Monday. He said defensive line coach Charlie Partridge was the first to offer him after his sophomore season while he was at Wisconsin. He now has more than 20 offers. Has a 3.8 GPA and plans to major in business and eventually become a defense attorney.

Lonoke receiver Blake Mack, 6-4, 195, 4.5 will visit Arkansas either this weekend or next weekend. He's drawing interest from Auburn, Mississippi State, Missouri and Arkansas State.

Ft. Smith Southside quarterback Isaac Jackson, 6-3, 215, 4.6 will visit Miss. St. this weekend and Arkansas the following weekend. Video highlights click here

Linebacker Christian Sam of Allen, Tx appears to be visiting Arkansas this weekend. Getting conflicting messages on if he'll visit or not. He has several offers but is awaiting on one from Arkansas. He's from the same school that Hog running back Jonathan Williams played at in high school. Video highlights click here

Offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor, 6-5 1/2, 315 of Lackawanna C.C. in Scanton, Pa. tweeted this morning that he received an offer from Arkansas.

Linebacker Christian Sam, 6-3, 208, 4.5 said he does plan to visit Arkansas this weekend. He said he's talked to Jonathan Williams about Arkansas and is very excited to visit. He said he and Williams are close friends. He has about nine offers now and definitely welcome one from Arkansas.

Safety Brandon Simmons, 6-0, 180, 4.5 of Mansfield, (Tx.) Timberview said he's talked cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson twice and Johnson wants him to visit. If he visits, he said he wants to come up for a spring practice to watch the coaches interact with the players. He reports 41 offers, including Arkansas but didn't know how much interest the Hogs had in him because they were one of the later offers. He said he realized Arkansas was going through a coaching change and were playing catch up in putting out offers. He has a 98 out of a 100 on the grading scale and is ranked 23rd out of 413 in his class.
