Jabe Burgess visit update

Greenwood quarterback Jabe Burgess looks for a receiver during a 2012 game at Little Rock Parkview.

Greenwood Jabe Burgess visited Arkansas for about three hours. The first thing he talked about was the coaches, Bret Bielema, offensive coordinator Jim Chaney and tights ends coach Barry Lunney Jr.

He spent about 20 minutes talking to Bielema in his office and said the head Hog is very down-to-earth and a great guy. He was told Arkansas would only take one quarterback in the 2014 class but will continue to recruit him.

He spent about 45 minutes with Chaney and talked a lot of football and was told he would come watch him during spring practice. He said Chaney and Bulldog Coach Rick Jones are very similar.

He said he's talking to Chaney about 50 percent of the time and Lunney Jr. 50 percent of the time. Burgess said he put on a hard hat and was given a tour of the new football complex. Story coming.
