Semper Fi updates

Bret Bielema FB 2013

— The first part of the day involved the Semper Fi Combine where several Arkansas recruits were on hand.

2014 DL Enoch Smith of Chicago said he has family in Little Rock and is interested in Arkansas. He has close to 10 offers.

2014 DL Dylan Thompson of Lombard, Ill. said he attended Wisconsin's camp and was able to work with Arkansas DC Chris Ash and DL coach Charlie Partridge and they liked what they saw. He plans to visit Arkansas in the spring or so. Very high on boh coaches.

2014 DL Preston Woods of St. Paul, Minn. said his high school coach is very good friends with Arkansas DL coach Charlie Partridge and he's looking to visit the Hogs.

Heard that 2014 Arkansas QB commitment Rafe Peavey had an oustanding day throwing the ball in the late session of the combine.

This afternoon, the media was able to talk to players from both teams of the Semper Fi All American Bowl. Here's a few notes:

East RB Corey Clement of Glassboro, N.J. said he's solid to Wisconsin but will listen to Arkansas. Didn't totally close the door.

West DE Deon Hollins of Missouri City, Tx. said he'll likely take an official visit to Arkansas if offered by the new staff. He's a UCLA commitment.

West OL Kenny Lacy of Phoenix said he recently missed a call from Arkansas OL coach Sam Pittman and he tried to call back and missed Pittman. He will listen to what Pittman has to say and could consider an official visit but said he's firm to UCLA.

11:00 update

Washington DE Daeshon Hall of Lancaster, Tx. said Arkansas RB coach Joel Thomas was the first coach to recruit him for the Huskies before his recruitment was taken over by another coach. He notes he's solid to Washington but would listen if contacted by Arkansas.

WR Devon Allen of Phoenix remains very interested in Arkansas and is still deciding between the Hogs and Arizona State for his fifth visit. Plans to talk to Hog OC Jim Chaney soon and make a decision within a week on which school will get his fith visit.
