Sunday recruiting tidbits

North Little Rock running back Altee Tenpenny jumps over Cabot defensive back Jordan Burke during the Charging Wildcats’ 28-0 victory in the Class 7A quarterfinals Friday night in North Little Rock. Tenpenny, who rushed for 141 yards in Friday’s victory, was penalized on the play for hurdling. The Charging Wildcats will begin their first season without Tenpenny tonight after Tenpenny graduated and signed with Alabama.

Pulaski Academy TE Hunter Henry said he talked to Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema on the phone while he was in the airport heading home after the Under Armour game. He said Bielema will visit his school on Friday and do an in-home visit that afternoon. Razorback OC-QB coach Jim Chaney visited with Henry's parents at the Under Armour hotel Friday morning. He was the starting TE for the White team and was also voted a team captain.

An Arkansas commitment, Henry said while he will miss Tim Horton at Arkansas it will not change things with the Hogs. He plans to officially visit the Hogs Jan. 18.

Arkansas RB Coach Joel Thomas met with North Little Rock RB Altee Tenpenny and his parents after wiating on on them in the lobby of the hotel after the Army All American game.

As was tweeted Friday night, Thomas and WR coach George McDonald was in the lobby of the Semper Fi host hotel. I'm told the meeting with RB Alex Collins of Plantation, Fla, South went well.

DL Monty Nelson of Plantation, Fla. hosted Hog DL coach Charlie Partridge for an in-home visit Friday night. He will officially visit Arkansas Jan. 18. He has an official visit set for Indiana.

RB Terrell Newby of Chatsworth, Calif. will decide between UCLA, Oregon or Nebraska. He was considering an official visit to Arkansas.

Hog commitment and WR Jervenski Johnson of Amite, La. said he was asleep when an Arkansas coach called. His mother answered the phone and spoke with the coach and then Johnson was able to talk to him and was told receiver coach George McDonald would look at his film and give him a call back. He couldn't recall the coach's name.

Hawaii OL Reeve Koehler, who played in the Army All American game, said he talked to Hog OL coach Sam Pittman on Saturday. He's still set to visit Arkansas Jan.18.
