As a player, Lunney was a four-year starting quarterback at Arkansas from 1992-95 and finished his career as the school's all-time passing yards and touchdowns leader. As a senior, he led the Razorbacks to the Southeastern Conference Championship Game in their fourth year as a member of the league.

Prior to working for his father at Bentonville, Lunney had assistant coaching stops at Tulsa and San Jose State. He also spent one season playing minor league baseball for the Montreal Expos.

Bond played only one season for Arkansas before suffering a career-ending knee injury in 1982. In addition to Georgia State, he has served as offensive coordinator in stops at Georgia Tech, Northern Illinois, Army and Illinois State, and began his career as a graduate assistant for the Razorbacks in 1985.

Both are sons of high school coaching legends in Arkansas. Barry Lunney Sr. has won a combined six state championships and finished runner-up three times at Fort Smith Southside and Bentonville in the state's largest classification, while Gary "Blackie" Bond was the longtime head coach at Rogers High School.

Tim Horton, Arkansas' former running backs coach, reportedly turned down an offer to stay on as the Razorbacks' tight ends coach next season. Horton was hired last week as tight ends coach at Auburn.
