FAYETTEVILLE Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson had a strong opening day for the South team at Monday’s Senior Bowl practice. Online analysts said Wilson had the day’s best showing among all the Senior Bowl quarterbacks.
“Wilson had 3-4 pretty deep balls, including one where he put the ball where only his WR could get it, and [Baylor’s] Terrance Williams went up and made a great catch on it,” wrote thefootballstandard.com.
Benjamin Allbright of NFLDraft-Monsters.com rates Wilson his top quarterback in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Wlson threw an interception on his first pass in 7-on-7 drills, but came back strong, connecting with teammate Cobi Hamilton on a 35-yard pass.
Hamilton checked in at 6-1 1/2 and 199 pounds, while Wilson was measured at 6-2, 218 pounds.
Wilson is on the South roster with fellow quarterbacks E.J. Manuel of Florida State and Landry Jones of Oklahoma. North Carolina State’s Mike Glennon, Zac Dysert of Miami (Ohio) and Syracuse’s Ryan Nassib are quarterbacks for the North.
The Senior Bowl will be played Saturday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.
