— Arkansas' baseball team will begin its preseason practices Friday.

The Razorbacks' first practice will begin at 2 p.m. at Baum Stadium. All practices are open to the public season-long.

After reaching the College World Series last season, Arkansas will enter the 2013 season with one of its highest preseason rankings ever in the major polls. One publication, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, ranked the Razorbacks No. 1 in the preseason, while Perfect Game USA has them ranked No. 2 behind North Carolina.

Baseball America and the USA Today/Coaches' poll are expected to release preseason rankings within the next week.

Arkansas opens the season with eight consecutive home games, beginning with the first of a three-game series against Western Illinois on Feb. 15.
