Thursday recruiting tidbits

North Little Rock running back Altee Tenpenny jumps over Cabot defensive back Jordan Burke during the Charging Wildcats’ 28-0 victory in the Class 7A quarterfinals Friday night in North Little Rock. Tenpenny, who rushed for 141 yards in Friday’s victory, was penalized on the play for hurdling. The Charging Wildcats will begin their first season without Tenpenny tonight after Tenpenny graduated and signed with Alabama.

As reported on Wednesday, Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema will arrive at North Little Rock high school at 2 today to see running back Altee Tenprenny and will make an in-home visit at 5. Running backs coach Joel Thomas will accompany him.

Bielema, Thomas and defensive line coach Charlie Partridge should be wrapping up an in-home visit with Forrest City defensive end Tevin Beanum shortly.

Partridge will head to Osceola later to check on running back Korliss Marshall, who has been offered by UAB and will visit there Feb. 1.

Wynne coach Mike Hill said Hog asst. coach Barry Lunney Jr. contacted him about defensive end Tony Jones, 6-6, 225. Jones visited Missouri State over the weekend. He has offers from Missouri State and UAPB. Lunney also asked about athlete Joe Stampley.

Hill said Lunney told him Arkansas is taking a look at the state to make sure the Hogs don't miss anyone in the 2013 class. Jones' senior video click here

Sophomore quarterback Ross Trail, who played at Wynne this past season has transferred to Olive Branch, Miss. He was one of the better quarterback prospects at Arkansas' camp last summer.

Athlete Marcus Davis of Delray Beach, Fla. tweeted that he had an in-home visit with Hog cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson and Partridge last night. He plans to visit Feb. 1.

New name -Defensive back De'Andre Coley, 6-1, 183, 4.45 of Miami Northwestern being recruited by Randy Shannon. Thinks very highly of Shannon. Has about 6 offers, including Cincinnati.

Coley said he'll likely commit to Arkansas while on his visit.
