Friday recruiting tidbits

Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/STEPHEN B. THORNTON -- North Little Rock's Altee Tenpenny runs through Fayetteville defenders during their Class 7A playoff football game Nov. 23, 2012 in North Little Rock.

Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema and running backs coach Joel Thomas visited North Little Rock high school to see running back Altee Tenpenny and then did an in-home visit on Thursday.

Bielema and Thomas was able to talk to Tenpenny at school and also watched track practice. They went to Tenpenny's home about five and spent about two hours with Tenpenny's mother and the visit went well. His father was a way on business and was not able to be at home.

Tenpenny had to work and wasn't able to be at home Bielema and Thomas went to the restaurant where he works and hung out.

Was told the day was a positive for the Hogs.

Tenpenny's work schedule was made out in advance before Bielema's visit. His father has to travel for work and has missed several in-home visits.

Tenpenny's mother said the visit went well and the coaches answered a lot of questions.

Again, the visit was a positive for Arkansas.

Tenpenny's mother said she and the Arkansas coaches were happy with how the visit, In addition to Tenpenny's mother, her brother and Altee's grandmother were at the in-home visit.

Another source also said the in-home visit went well for both parties.

Evidently there are reports of Tenpenny visiting Auburn this weekend and that is false. Altee and his parents have decided not to go.

DB Lamar Robbins of Miami Southridge has decided to use his fifth visit and trip to South Florida. He was considering Arkansas for his last visit.

Arkansas asst. coach Barry Lunney Jr. met with athlete A.J. Tucker this morning at Little Rock Central and was told the Hogs will evaluate him over the weekend and he should know whether Arkansas will offer by Sunday or so.

Word is Bielema will be visiting El Dorado today to check on 2014 Hog commitment and defensive tackle Bijhon Jackson.

Lunney made contact with Mineral Springs coach Nick Evans and was told the Hogs will evaluate defensive lineman Derrick Muldrow over the weekend. Video highlights click here

Ft. Lauderdale, (Fla.) University high coach John Harriott said Bielema and defensive line coach Charlie Partridge in-home with linebacker Skai Moore on Tuesday night went well. He said both coaches do a great job of representing Arkansas. Moore is scheduled to visit the Hogs Feb. 1.

Arkansas defensive coordinator Chris Ash was suppose visit Springdale high school this morning to check on 2014 running back Deandre Murray and tight end Josiah Wymer.

Very late in posting this but from a text received from Osceola Coach Russell Leggett Thursday night. Running back Korliss Marshall's Thursday meeting with Arkansas defensive line coach Charlie Partridge went well. Partridge said the staff would meet this weekend and them know one way or another on a possible offer. Leggett praised Partridge's professionalism.
