Hog fans sway Marks

Ke'Tyrus Marks becomes the Hogs' third commitment on Sunday.

Defensive tackle Ke’Tyrus Marks named several factors in deciding to be a Razorback after his official visit to Fayetteville over the weekend but the Arkansas fans was at the top of his list.

"I love the University of Arkansas and I love Fayetteville and I love all of the fans," Marks said. "You have to love them, They're die-hard fans. I understand that's the only sports team they have."

Marks, 6-2, 285, 4.9, of Riviera Beach (Fla.) Suncoast picked the Razorbacks over Wake Forest, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Western Kentucky and Massachusetts. The competitive SEC is challenge he's looking forwatrd to over the next four to five years.

" It's the toughest conference in football," Mark said. "You always want to compete against the best."

His lead recruiter, defensive line coach Charlie Partridge has earned Marks admiration.

"I love the whole coaching staff," Marks said. "It's a family environment. Thirdly, it gives me a better football opportunity."

When talking about Arkansas, Marks usually goes back to the support the Hogs enjoy from the fan base.

"You have to go where you want to be loved," said Marks, who was hosted by freshman defensive lineman JaMichael Winston. "A lot of schools show you love but the fans here, it doesn't compare, it doesn't compare. You get the opportunity to play football with the best fans and in the top conference. You just have to go with it."
