Frazier determined to improve after Opening experience

Springdale Har-Ber defensive tackle Josh Frazier is one of the Razorbacks' top prospects. He competed at The Opening at the Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Ore.

— Springdale Har-Ber defensive lineman Josh Frazier was given some tips from several of the coaches at the three day The Opening event and he plans to work on a certain move when he gets back home.

“They feel like I’m a power rip guy,” Frazier said. “So I’m going back to Arkansas and work on my power rips and getting off the ball as fast as I can I know. I have to watch the ball but don’t worry so much about ball movement. If I do that and think a lot I’ll be slower and I don’t want to be slow, I want to be as fast as I can off the ball.”

Frazier, 6-4, 323, 5.27 seconds in the 40 yard dash, doesn’t have any firm plans for any future visits to his top schools, Arkansas, Alabama, Southern Cal, Auburn and Texas A&M. He took on Alabama commitment offensive lineman J.C. Hassenauer and had success.

“He went up against my buddy Ainuu (Taua) and just whooped him,” Frazier said. “Ainuu is one of the quickest guys I’ve ever seen off the ball and he’s really good with his hands.”

Frazier had 65 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 4 sacks and a forced fumble while making the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All Arkansas team as a junior. He said he plans to return home and continue the hard work in an effort to be the best defensive lineman he can be.

“It’s been a great experience in Oregon flying out here but I’m ready to get back to my team, my hometown and get to work and get better and better and better everyday.” he said.
