Virginia junior prospect looking to earn offer

Junior defensive lineman Chance Hall is one of the better prospects who will attend Arkansas' Elite camp on Saturday.

It’s likely defensive lineman Chance Hall will have traveled the farthest to attend Arkansas’ Elite prospect camp on Saturday when he arrives in Fayetteville this afternoon.

Hall, 6-4, 288, 5.1 seconds in the 40 yard dash, Roanoke, (Va.) Northside is hoping to add a scholarship offer from the Hogs to go along with ones from Maryland, Virginia and Old Dominion. He doesn’t know much about Arkansas.

“I like the school and I’ve watch them,” Hall said. “I just really like Arkansas. Arkansas is a pretty good school.”

Offensive line graduate assistant Eric Mateos has been recruiting Hall and was able to get him to thinking about the Hogs.

“He just really likes me,” Hall said. “He wants me to try offensive and defensive line for this camp. He said he knows that I have good footwork. He knows I haven’t played very much offense so it will be interesting at the camp.”

Off the field, Hall is a lover of classic sports cars and is the middle of restoring 1971 Chevelle SS.

“We dropped the engine in a couple of days ago,” Hall said. “We still have quite a bit left but hopefully I’ll have it by the time I get my license. I’m 16 but I still have a to wait a couple more months.“

Hall has been a fan of the old classics for some time.

“I just like the mean, muscle cars,” he said. “I just love the sound of them the way they look. They sound and look mean. I love it.”

He’s still deciding on the finishing touches.

“Thinking about painting it navy blue with white stripes or like a pearl white with black stripes,” Hall said.

An offer from the Hogs would help their stock with Hall but he’s nowhere close to making a decision.

“It would improve it a lot right now,” said Hall of the Hogs chances with him. “I really don’t know where I want to go right now. I’m trying to get some offers and decide from there so right now most of the schools are equal with me right now.”
