Thursday recruiting tidbits

Defensive lineman Matt Dickerson plans to visit Arkansas soon.

Highly recruited defensive lineman Matt Dickerson said he will visit Arkansas either Aug. 3 or 4th.

Dickerson, 6-5, 275, 4.9 of San Mateo, California, Junipero Serra has about 20 offers, including Arkansas, USC, UCLA, Notre Dame, Oregon and others.

2016 Jonesboro athlete Denzel Mitchell received a scholarship offer from Ole Miss Wednesday night. He also has an offer from Arkansas State. He ran a 4.41 time in the 40 yard dash at Arkansas' Elite Prospect camp last week. He's a very solid 6-0 and 190 pounds.

Linerbacker Sharieff Rhaheed of Fort Pierce Central High School in Florida said he knows Hog running back Alex Collins, offensive tackle Denver Kirkland and defensive lineman Ke'tyrus Marks, all of Florida. He said it's a plus for the Razorbacks to have guys on the team that he knows.

The Arkansas Wings Elite 16U won their first their games on Wednesday by an average margin of 36.7 points at the 16-under AAU DI National Championships in Orlando. They defeated T’Ware B&G All-Stars 75-35 victory and were lead by G Malik Monk, who was selected to attend the Nike Lebron James Skill Academy and is one of the most highly regarded players in the class of 2016,. He scored 17 points and added 3 assists while 2015 G Kevaughn Allen scored 14 points in his first game in a Wings jersey this summer.

The Wings had 82-52 victory over the Delray Blazers. 6’10” Skal Labissiere, a top ten recruit in the class of 2015, stood out as he dropped in 18 points and collected 10 rebounds in the victory. Devin Campbell, a 6’3” guard from LR Mills, put in one of his top games of the summer as he added 15 points, including 2 three pointers.

The Wings won the third game of the day with suffocating defense, forcing 31 turnovers, on the way to a 90-50 victory over the Lake County Challengers. Memphis native Donte Fitzpatrick, a 6’5” shooting guard, had a breakout game as he drained 4 three pointers on his way to 26 points. Fitzpatrick’s high school teammate, Marlon Hunter, added 16 points of his own and 4 steals.

The Wings emerge as the #1 seed from pool D.
