Vegas Hoops updates

Forrest City forward Trey Thompson is one of two in-state players committed to Arkansas in the class of 2014.

— There's about 25 Arkansas basketball prospects participating in the FAB 48, Adidas Super 64 and Bigfoot Hoops tournaments in Las Vegas over the next several days.

Razorback commitment and forward Trey Thompson scored 14 points in the Arkansas Hawks 69-50 win over Nothing But Net.

Thompson appears to have added more muscle to his frame since Real Deal in the Rock in April.

The Hawks play tonight at 9 central time against the Wisconsin Swing, who have some bigs.

2015 PG Jimmy Whitt of 16-under KC Run GMC had 4 points in a 68-48 win over Louisiana Elite this morning.

He's very smooth with his play and is an excellent penetrator and one that likes to get his teammates open shots. He may have the longest wing span I've ever seen for a 6-3 kid.

Whitt, who has a wing span in the 6-10 range, said Arkansas' style of play appeals to him because his high school plays the same way and he likes to use his length while playing defense. He said the Hogs are really high on his list.

Arkansas is also taking a look at three other 2015 prospects, SG Drew Lock, G Jarred Dixon and G Ryan Kreklow of KC Run GMC. Lock, 6-4 is a zone buster who has basketball offers from Missouri and Oklahoma and football offers from Missouri and Louisville.

G Nick Babb of Texas Select hit the game winning free throw last night against Mac Irwin Fire. Planning see him at some point. He visited the Hogs nit too long ago. Asst. coach Matt Zimmerman was at his game.

F/C Tory Miller, who plays for the KC Run GMC 17-under, was sitting with his uncle, former Hog G Clint McDaniel watching the KC Run GMC play this morning. He has nine offers, including Arkansas, Kansas State and Marquette. He plans to narrow his list by the end of July. He'll probably make a commitment after making some official visits in the fall but won't likely sign until the spring.

5:27 update

Plan to watch Tory Miller play at 6:40 central time vs. DC Assault and guard Nick Babb of Texas Select at 11;20 central time. Looking at other games to attend between those two games. More updates later tonight.

8:22 update

C/F Tory Miller, 6-8, 260 had 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block shot in my unofficial stats against DC Assault. Miller and KC GMC lost 66-54. He moves extremely for his size and has the potential to really do some damage down low because of his wide body and quick feet.

Up next is the Arkansas Hawks vs. Wisconsin Swing at 9 central time.

At a 11:20 central time SG Nick Babb and Texas Select will tip off against Juice All Stars.
