Lovett loving Arkansas camp experience

Sophomore offensive-defensive lineman DeVante Lovett has a chance to be one of the top 2015 prospects in the state.

Strong junior DeVante Lovett was one of the better looking offensive linemen at Arkansas' three day camp that ends today.

Loveet, 6-5, 282 pounds had more good moments than bad when going up against the best defensive linemen at the camp.

"I think I did pretty good," said Lovett, who ran a 5.21 time in the 40 yard dash on Sunday. ""I learned more techniques of blocking. I’ve got to get my footwork better than what it is."

He embraced the opportunity to learn from Hog offensive line coach Sam Pittman.

"It was a really good experience," Lovett said. " He helped me on my blocking techniques. He showed me the right ways to block on the offensive line."

He recalled the first few 1-on-1 matchups he encountered while using some of the new things he learned from Pittman.

"On the matchups, my first one it was kind fo tough because it was my first time going through with the way they wanted you to block," he said. " Once I got a hold to the technique, I could really just go from there."

Lovett has grown up being a big Razorback fan. Arkansas visited his school twice during the spring evaulation period.

""They really couldn’t talked to me when they came to my school because I was a sophomore," Lovett said. " But I’m really interested. And they’ve told me a lot of good stuff about Arkansas."

Pittman has had 10 players drafted into the NFL and will have several more going in next year's draft.

"I think it will be a good chance for me to go to the league out of Arkansas," he said.

An offer from the Hogs would be very welcomed. ".

"If they offer," Lovett said. " I’ll have to take time with my family because I’m still young and go from there with that."
