Sprinkle sees instant gains after work with Partridge

NWA Media/MICHAEL WOODS --03/30/2013-- Defensive line coach Charlie Partridge's recruiting tactics have served him well.

When attending a college football camp the focus is on getting better, White Hall junior defensive end Daniel Sprinkle did exactly that while participating in Arkansas' three day.

Sprinkle, 6-4, 224 pounds started slow and finished fast and at the end of the camp was one of the better defensive line performers. After working with defensive line coach Charlie Partridge, he noticed his progress within short period.

"I improved in like 30 minutes," said Sprinkle, whose brother, Jeremy is a redshirt freshman tight end with the Hogs. "Everything improved."

Like his older brother, Sprinkle plays basketball and baseball. This spring his fastball has been clocked at 86 miles per hour.

He felt his pass rushing is a head of his play against the run.

"I think I did well I could improve on the run and shedding the blocker a little bit better but on pass blocking ," Sprinkle said. "I think I did real good I think I did a good job of shedding them and getting vertical."

Sprinkle has made noticeable changes to his body over the last year with a much thicker chest, arms and legs. He recorded a 4.90 time in the 40 yard dash during Sunday's testing session.

Partridge and the defensive staff received a strong endorsement from Sprinkle.

"They helped us improve a lot," Sprinkle said. "They're a really good coaching staff They really show you the right fundamentals ."

Sprinkle, who met with Coach Bret Bielema after the camp, would love to be teammates with his brother at Arkansas.

"It would be a great opportunity to play with my brother," he said. "I didn't get to play with him in high school but I could have a chance here."
