Storey gets Arkansas offer

Charleston quarterback Ty Storey was offered by Arkansas on Friday.

Charleston junior quarterback Ty Storey has received a scholarship offer from Arkansas after visiting with Coach Bret Bielema and offensive coordinator Jim Chaney. He arrived about 3:30 p.m. Friday and left about 6 p.m.

Storey, 6-3, 217, 4.92 seconds in the 40 yard dash, also has offers from Alabama, Auburn and Arkansas State.

He was named to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Super Sophomore team after completing 328 of 503 passes for 4,397 yards and 46 touchdowns. Only Rhett Lashlee of Shiloh Christian, who threw for 4,546 yards in 1999, has thrown for more yards as a sophomore in Arkansas. Video highlights click here

Storey said he received the news of the offer from Coach Bret Bielema while in his office and was told how much he was wanted to Arkansas. He said he doesn't have a time frame for a decision but hopes he can make his decision and get it over with.

Storey said he appreciates the opportunity ans said the Hogs were in his top five for sure.
