Arkansas tumbles in polls following weekend sweep

— As expected, Arkansas took a hard fall in the national baseball polls after going 0-4 during a road trip to Surprise, Ariz.

The Razorbacks fell 17 spots to No. 19 in the USA Today/Coaches' poll and 13 spots to No. 16 in the Baseball America poll, released Monday.

Arkansas lost four close games in the Coca-Cola Classic, held at the spring training home of the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals. The Razorbacks lost 3-2 to Arizona State on Thursday, 3-0 to Gonzaga on Friday, 3-1 to Arizona State on Saturday and 4-3 to Pacific on Sunday.

The team committed 10 errors and stranded 30 base runners in the tournament.

San Diego State is up next for Arkansas in a four-game series beginning Thursday at Baum Stadium. Both teams are 7-5.
