Charleston sophomore quarterback Ty Storey, who was one of several prospects who visited Arkansas on Saturday, was able to spend time with offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jim Chaney.

Storey, 6-3, 217, 4.92 seconds in the 40 yard dash, was named to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Super Sophomore team after completing 328 of 503 passes for 4,397 yards and 46 touchdowns. Only Rhett Lashlee of Shiloh Christian, who threw for 4,546 yards in 1999, has thrown for more yards as a sophomore in Arkansas.

"When went over some of the stuff they like to do and went over some of the terminology," Storey said. "I like it because it's more like a pro-style offense so it gets you ready for the next level and hopefully I can be there one day."

Storey, who was offered a scholarship by Arkansas State under Gus Malzahn, recorded 8 games with at least 300 yards passing, 3 games with at least 400 yards and 2 games with least 500 yards last season.

He said Chaney wants to get to know him better.

"He wants to get more personable," said Storey, who had three games with seven touchdowns. "He wants me to come up as much as possible. He wants to see me throw live. He wants me to come for some camps up there this summer. "

The Arkansas offense is a good fit.

"I think it would be perfect," Storey said. "It would fit my skill set in what I need to do. I'm not much of a runner. I'm more of a pro-style quarterback so I think it fits perfectly."

Storey had the same opinion that so many other recruits have about Coach Bret Bielema.

"He's a cool guy," he said. "He's just a down-to-earth normal guy."

Prior to Arkansas, Storey visited Auburn the week before. In addition to Arkansas, he plans to attend camps at several other schools.

"We're going to try and hit OU, Alabama and maybe Florida State and Auburn." Storey said.
