Hogs offer QB Harris

Quarterback Brandon Harris is expecting Arkansas to visit his school May 6.

Arkansas appears to be in good shape with quarterback Brandon Harris when considering what he values in a school.

"You want to go to a school that fits your play style and you know the coach has stability to where if a another big job comes open." Harris said.

Harris, 6-3 1/2, 187 pounds, 4.55 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Bossier City, (La.) Parkway added his seventh scholarship offer on Tuesday when Arkansas offensive coordinator Jim Chaney and receivers coach Michael Smith extended an offer. He also has offers from Arizona State and Louisiana Tech.

"They want me to come down to the spring game." Harris said.

Harris, who passed for 2,573 yards and 26 touchdown as a junior, attended an Arkansas camp as a freshman. He plans to graduate in December and enroll at his school of choice in January.

"You want it to get it out of the way so it's not a distraction for the football team," said Harris of his college decision. "I'll probably make my process quicker than others."

His father will help Harris sort out schools and aid him in picking a school.

"I'm a 17 year old kid I'll have some say so but my dad being 6-4, 280, he's going to have a lot of say so." Harris said with a chuckle.

Harris plans to stay focus on the task at hand while trying to decide where he'll further his football career.

"I play for everything on the jersey," Harris said. "I'm not trying to cause any distractions for the team. I'm playing for Parkway high school right now. If Arkansas comes, Arkansas comes."

Leading by example is Harris' style of leadership. He sees that his backup is well versed in the offense.

"I don't believe you don't teach your backup everything you know ," Harris said. "Because if I'm going to be an alumni of Parkway high school I don't want to come back two years later and Parkway is 0 and 5 or 0 and 6. I'm all about what we're doing for Parkway high school and try to make Parkway high school look good."

"It's not about Brandon Harris or what Brandon Harris is trying to do or anything like that. Right now I'm playing for Parkway high school and that's the only think I'm concerned about."
