Pine Bluff sophomore tight end Will Gragg showed out at Arkansas' three day camp last summer and received a scholarship offer from the previous coaching staff. While on a visit on Saturday, he said he learned from Coach Bret Bielema the offer still stands.
"He said it's still a 100 percent." Gragg said.
Gragg, 6-4, 235, 4.7 seconds in the 40 yard dash, is the younger brother of former Hog tight end Chris, who's expected to taken in the upcoming NFL draft. Bielema also told him how the Hogs like to incorporate the tight end into the offense.
"He was talking about different packages they use and how often they use the tight end," Gragg said. "That's one of the areas they're low on this year."
Gragg has grown accustomed to the Razorback fan base while watching his brother perform for the Hogs over the last several years but even he was taken aback by the fans during Arkansas' basketball victory over Kentucky.
"That crowd was too pumped ," Gragg said. "It was crazy. it was energetic."
Tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. impressed Gragg during position meetings.
"He breaks it down and he's easy to talk to," Gragg said. "He sounds like he knows what he's talking about and with his track record. I believe him ."
Gragg's next stop will be to Auburn on the 30th. He also plans to visit Ole Miss, Alabama and LSU. Bielema drew praise from Gragg.
"I like him a lot," Gragg said. "He's a people person. He's like a player's coach like Houston Nutt."
