— Arkansas right-hander Trey Killian was named the Southeastern Conference's freshman of the week Monday after a near no-hitter over the weekend.

Killian, a Mountain Home native, pitched seven innings without allowing a hit in the Razorbacks' 8-2 win over San Diego State on Saturday. He was pulled from the game prior to the eighth inning because of a pitch count.

In four appearances this season, Killian has a 0.86 earned run average and has struck out 22 batters in 21 innings. He gave up his first walk of the season in the sixth inning Saturday and has allowed only six hits.

Killian is the second Arkansas pitcher to win freshman of the week this season. Colin Poche won the award two weeks ago.
