Arkansas was the first school to offer sophomore offensive lineman Zach Rogers a scholarship after his performance at the Hogs' junior-senior prospect camp last summer.
Rogers, 6-3, 295 pounds, 5.06 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Carrollton, (Tx) Hebron visited Fayetteville on Saturday and heard the offer was still good after talking to Coach Bret Bielema.
"I definitely liked him," said Rogers, who started as a 14 year old freshman in the highest classification in Texas. "He was a lot different than I thought he would be. I was more impressed than I thought I would be. He was really easy to talk to. He was great guy."
He also spent time with offensive line coach Sam Pittman.
"I could definitely see myself playing for him one day," Rogers said. "He said he liked my film and he liked the way I play with effort and don't let people stop me and keep going."
Rogers, who has a 355 pound bench press and 470 squat, said his interest is "very, very high" in Arkansas after meeting the new coaching staff, including his lead recruiter running backs coach Joel Thomas.
"We've talked on the phone numerous times," said Rogers, who also has scholarship offers from Texas Tech and UCLA. "I will definitely get along with him during this process."
His parents were equally impressed with Bielema and the coaching staff.
"They definitely liked them," Rogers said. "They had the same impression I did. Good people who genuinely care about what they do and are passionate about Arkansas."
Rogers and his parents traveled to Norman, Oklahoma to visit with the Sooners on Tuesday and will leave today for a visit to UCLA. He said he might attend Arkansas' Red-White game on April 20.
