No NIT for Arkansas
Arkansas's Marshawn Powell chases a blocked pass down court in front of Vanderbilt's Josh Henderson during their Southeastern Conference tournament game in Nashville Thursday.
FAYETTEVILLE Arkansas did not make the 32-team NIT field unveiled Sunday night.
Unless the Razorbacks were to participate in the pay-for-play College Basketball Invitational, it will be the fifth consecutive season the program has missed on the postseason, including both years under head coach Mike Anderson. Arkansas lost 75-72 to Vanderbilt in the second round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday.
The Razorbacks (19-13) went 17-1 this season at home, but won only two games away from Bud Walton Arena, one of which was played at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock.
Arkansas last played in the NIT in 1997, advancing to the tournament's final four at Madison Square Garden in New York.
