Forward Thompson pledges to Hogs

Forrest City’s Trey Thompson recently received a scholarship offer from Memphis to go with previous offers from Florida and Arkansas, the first school to extend a scholarship offer.

Forrest City forward Trey Thompson, who plays for the Arkansas Hawks in the spring and summer, has orally committed to Arkansas. He pledged to Coach Mike Anderson and his staff Wednesday night and intended to go public later this evening.

Thompson, 6-9, 250 pounds chose the Hogs over other scholarship offers from Memphis, Florida, Mississippi State and others.

Thompson made up his mind to be a Hog Wednesday night but told Anderson Thursday morning that he wanted to be a Razorback.

Thompson averaged about 17 points, 10 rebounds, 4 block shots and 3 assists this past season for Forrest City.
