Hog fans "crazy", according to O-lineman

Keaton Sutherland

The Arkansas fans impressed several recruits attending the SEC battle between the Hogs and Texas A&M. Highly regarded junior offensive lineman Keaton Sutherland was one of them.

“It was awesome,” Sutherland said. “The fans were crazy. That’s awesome how they rallied up and helped the team.”

Sutherland, 6-5, 260, 5.13 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Flower Mound, Texas, Marcus, has scholarship offers from Arkansas,Oklahoma, Texas Tech, TCU and Baylor, who’s the latest to offer.

He liked the O-line play of the Razorbacks and seeing two freshmen, Denver Kirkland and Dan Skipper starting. Video highlights click here

“I liked how they moved the defense back really well and reset the line of scrimmage,” Sutherland said. “Coach (Sam) Pittman was telling me how they were starting two freshmen so I watched them pretty closely and I thought they did pretty well.”

One of the highlights of the visit was being able to spend some 1-on-1 time with Coach Bret Bielema.

“I met with him for about 20 minutes before the game,” Sutherland said. “We’re just catching up and he was saying he wants me at Arkansas and his plan for me and talked about the game a little bit too.”

While a major target of the Hogs, Sutherland he’s focused on his season and isn’t looking to make a decision anytime soon.

“I definitely like Arkansas a lot,” he said. “I definitely have them up high.”

At halftime Sutherland was able to hang out in the player’s lodge in the new football complex and interact with some of the other prospects.

“That was pretty cool,” Sutherland said. “It was really nice. It was cool, they brought all the recruits together so I got to talk to a couple of them. I talked to Ty Storey a little bit and Zach Rogers and a little bit to Solomon Thomas too.”

Sutherland has two brothers attending Arkansas and they’re doing their share of recruiting for the Hogs.

“They just want me up here,” Sutherland said.
