Pierce commits to Hogs
TE Ravian Pierce of Plantation, Florida has committed to Arkansas, according to Coach Steve Davis.
Pierce, 6-4, 230, 4.5 chose the Hogs over more than 20 offers, including Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss and others.
Pierce said he slept on his decision a day or two and decided Arkansas was the best fit for him. He said he told Coach Bret Bielema and defensive line coach Charlie Partridge he wanted to be a Hog. He told Bielema he was ready to get this train rolling.
Partridge, who's a graduate of Plantation, told Pierce it was good to have a Colonel on board. The school mascot is the Colonels.
The Hogs use of the tight end also played a big role in his decision.
Pierce also bragged about recruiting coordinator Chris Hauser. He said when Hauser would escort him around they really hit it off and he felt real comfortable around him. He said that also helped his decision.
He said he's done with visits. No more officials for him.
Pierce is rated a 3-star plus prospect by national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network.
