Storey steady in play and commitment

Highly regarded Charleston quarterback Ty Storey is an Arkansas commitment.

Charleston junior quarterback Ty Storey, an Arkansas commitment, isn’t likely to match his sophomore passing totals because of usually being limited to a half in most games.

Last year, he passed for 4,397 yards, second only to Rhett Lashlee of Shiloh Christian, who threw for 4,546 yards in 1999 as a sophomore. In eight games this season, Storey has completed 149 of 213 passes for for 2,078 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Storey, 6-3, 217, 4.92 seconds in the 40 yard dash, credits an improved Tigers defense along with a well oiled offense for an average 37 to 11 victory. Video highlights click here

“I just think me and my receivers are on the same page and we’re getting the job done,” Storey said.

Despite connecting on 70 precent of his passes, Storey sees room for improvement.

“After a bad pass, I need to kind of pick back up,” said Storey, who was a member of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Super Sophomore team. “A few games it seemed like we kind of got into a funk and we just couldn’t get out. I just want to work on handling adversity and just get better. That and all phases of the game.”

Some Razorback fan expressed concern when learning that Story recently visited Texas A&M and Oklahoma for games. He said he’s a fan of the game and wanted to see two of Top 25 match-ups while learning about his craft.

“I’m working on becoming a better quarterback,” Storey said.

In Tuesday’s Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Storey said he’s 100 percent Hog.

“I know it kind of got out a little bit we weren’t trying to hide or anything,” said Storey, who pledged to Arkansas over scholarship offers from Auburn, Alabama and Arkansas State. “The coaches have already contacted me and they don’t have to worry. I think some people just kind of overreacted, it’s not that big of a deal.”
