Rhaheed visit update

Arkansas linebackers coach Randy Shannon watches during a spring practice in Fayetteville.

Linebacker Sharieff Rhaheed, 6-4, 212, 4.7 of Fort Pierce, (Fla.) Central said prior to his official visit to Arkansas the Hogs were at the top of his list and that remains true today. One of the highlights was seeing fellow Floridians Alex Collins and Denver Kirkland playing as freshman. He sees the Hogs are willing to play freshmen and that's important to him. 2012 video highlights click here

He said the passion of fans was very impressive at the Catfish Hole on Sunday and at the game.

Another focus of the trip was the campus life with the students back in school. The vast majority of the students weren't in Fayetteville during his July visit. He said he felt comfortable being on campus, especially on game day.

Rhaheed also liked seeing how the Hogs used Jarrett Lake during the game. He said it's very similar to how he's used at Central. He said he thought about committing during his visit but not too seriously. He plans to visit Oregon and Louisville. Read more in Tuesday's Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

A couple more note. His mother, Jackie did not make the trip.
