Wednesday recruiting tidbits
One Arkansas prospect about 4,800 miles from Fayetteville called cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson today.
Highly regarded defensive end Hjalte Frohodt of Denmark said he called Johnson about 12:30 central time and 7:30 pm his time. He said the conversation went great.
Froholdt, 6-5, 275 pounds is ESPN’s No. 14 prospect for the 2015 class. He'll make an unofficial visit on Oct. 12 when the Hogs play South Carolina.
He played his sophomore year at Warren (Ohio) Harding High School as an exchanged student. He plans to return to America for his senior season.
Sophomore guard Malik Monk, 6-4, 180 pounds of Bentonville added an offer from Florida today, according to his brother Marcus Monk. He also has offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Indiana and Memphis.
OFFICIAL VISITORS FOR SOUTHERN MISS GAME SEPT. 14
Defensive back Shawn Boone, 5-10, 180 pounds of West Palm Beach, (Fla.) Dwyer reported on Recruiting Thursday Aug. 8 that he and his teammates, athlete Ezra Saffold, receivers Johnnie Dixon and Clint Stephens will officially visit.
Razorback linebacker commitment Khalia Hackett, 6-2, 208, 4.63 of Douglasville, (Ga.) South Paulding said he will also officially visit for the game.
Others expected to visit:
Athlete Tyreek Hill, 5-9, 185, 4.28 of Garden City Community College. He ran a 10.19 laser time in the 100 meters and a 20.1 in the 200 meters while at Douglas, (Ga.) Coffee County High School.
Offensive lineman Josh Allen, 6-3, 305, 5.1 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Jacksonville, (Fla.) University Christian School has 23 scholarship offers from schools like Arkansas, North Carolina, Florida State, Georgia and Nebraska. His visit could be rescheduled at a later date.
