Franklin, 6-3, 240, 4.62 seconds in the 40 yard dash of Greenville, Texas is being evaluated by Arkansas while also drawing interest from TCU, SMU, Baylor, Mississippi State and Texas San Antonio. His first Hog Call was memorable.
“I was like what is that?” Franklin said. “It was weird. Everybody was asking me “You want to call the Hogs?’ I was like ‘No, what is that?’ I was like that’s kind of nice.”
The rest of the visit received a thumbs up.
“It was fun, everybody there was real nice,” said Franklin of the visit. “The stadium and weight room facilities were nice. It was pretty fun.”
Franklin, who has a 325 pound bench press and 425 squat, liked the tour of the weight room and football complex.
“I like how big it was and all of the coaches offices are right there,” he said. “And how you can see the indoor facility from the weight room. It was all brand new. It was real nice.”
The Hogs plan to review Franklin’s first few games.
“They’re saying they want me there but they got my highlight tape too late to offer anything,” said Franklin, who recorded about 90 tackles and 16 sacks as a junior. “They’re calling my coach and getting my game film from last Friday and they'll call me sometime next week.”
The game atmosphere stood out.
“All of the school sprit,” he said. “That made it a lot better than a lot of other schools because they have so much school spirt They have a lot of different chants. That’s kind of cool to be around that type of atmosphere.”
